Donations to STI are tax deductible in two ways...

Your donations help STI to grow.
STI is a NW Enterprise Zone Project. Cash donations of $400 or more yield a 25% State tax credit. That’s money taken directly off the tax bill. In addition, you can deduct the donation on your federal income tax return, further lowering your actual expense out of pocket. Donations of materials and time can yield a 12.5% State tax credit. This means that a $400 cash donation might only cost you $160 out of pocket.

Please call first to make sure we're in! 720-479-8049 Or email us if you have items to donate and you'd like us to pick them up.
FINANCIAL DONATIONS: your contributions are tax deductible! Larger contributions yield State tax credit!
1) Equipment Drive: STI needs equipment for hands-on components of our classes. This includes solar panels and system components; wind turbines and system components; solar site analysis equipment; tools; various building materials etc.
2) Greenhouse: STI is raising money to build a large greenhouse which will grow organic, heirlomm fruits and vegetables.
3) General Fund: STI is fundraising for ongoing community oriented activities and workshops to promote environmental stewardship and healthy, self-sufficient life styles. Please help us with our efforts by donating! You can donate by clicking the button below. If you’d like your donation to go specifically to one of the three drives listed above, you’ll have the opportunity to send us a message specifying that when you pay. NW Enterprise Zone: STI is designated as a NW Enterprise Zone Project. This means that your cash donations (of $400 or more) and in-kind donations (items, stock, volunteer time valued at $800+) yield a State tax credit worth 25% of the value of the donation! For example, if you donate $400, you’ll get $100 back from State taxes. This credit is in addition to the federal income tax deduction which you can also take. A $400 deduction could save up to $140 in taxes.
